Installation & Assembly

Center the coil in the door ,
leaving approximately a
1/8" gap on each side.
Center the slot in the bolt, to allow the tang of the bolt to work.
Install the UltraLatch® following enclosed instructions.
The intumescent must be installed as described to ensure proper
20 minute fire rated certification.
Before installation make sure that intumescent is in one piece.
Make sure that the bore hole is clear of debris.
Gently coil the intumescent so that the slots overlap
approximately 3/16" and slide the coil into the bore hole,
making sure that the slot faces the bolt hole.
In order for the UltraLatch® to achieve the
proper 20 minute fire rating, the supplied
intumescent tape needs to be properly
installed in the door's bore hole.
In a fire, the tape expands to many times it's
normal thickness to fill voids in the bore hole.
