Troubleshooting power management
The power management setting is not responding
Your computer’s operating system may become unstable if a lower power state, such as Hibernate is initiated, and then changed
before the computer completely enters the lower power state.
To restore the computer to its normal operating stability, proceed as follows:
1 Close all open applications.
2 Press <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Delete> simultaneously and select Restart from the drop-down list.
The computer restarts.
3 If the procedure does not work, press and hold the power button for 4 seconds or longer to shut down the computer.
Managing power with VAIO Power Management
Power management helps you to set up power schemes of your computer running on AC power or batteries, to suit your
requirements for power consumption.
VAIO Power Management is a software application developed exclusively for VAIO computers. With this software application, you
can enhance the Windows power management functions to ensure that your computer performs better and the battery lasts longer.
Activating VAIO Power Management
When you start the computer, a power status icon appears in the taskbar. This icon indicates what kind of power source you are
using at that time, for example, AC power. If you double-click this icon, the Power Meter screen appears showing you the power
status.
VAIO Power Management functionalities are added to the Windows Power Options Properties.
