Connecting to a Wireless LAN
Your comp uter may come with a wireless Local Area Network (LAN) PC Card

that allows for wireless connections. With Sony’s W ireless LAN functionality , all
compatible digital devices can communicate freely without cable connections. A
W ireless LAN is a network in which a mobile user can connect to a LAN through
a wireless (radio) connection. You can op t to purchase a Wireless LAN Access
Point to set up a LAN.
The Wireless LAN Access Point
The Wireless LAN Access Point, which is also called the access point, is
designed for building a Wireless LAN environment. If you purchase an access
point, you can easily build a wireless LAN environ ment by plugging the Access
point into an AC power outlet and using th e provided software with compatible
devices. Because a wireless LAN configuration requires no wiring, you can
operate multiple computers more freely than ever before.
