Using Memory Stick Media

3 Under Devices wi th Removable Storage, right-click Sony Memory Stick -
MG, and select Format. The Format Sony Memory Stick - MG dialog box
appears.
4 Select the appropriate options, and cli c k Start.
Notes on using Memory Stick media
❑ When the write-protect tab of the Memory Stick media is set to LOCK, data
cannot be recorded or erased.
❑ Before using Memory Stick media, back up important data.
❑ Wait a minimum of 10 seconds aft e r the Mem ory Stick media finishes
reading or writing data before rem ovi ng the m edia.
❑ If the media is removed prematurely, a blue screen with an error message
appears, prompting you to continue or exi t. Reinsert the media in to the slot
and press Enter to continue. This enables the media to finish reading or
writing data.
❑ You can view video clip s th at you have recorded with Memory Stick media-
compatible video camera recorders.
❑ The media slot can accommodate one Memory Stick media at a time.
❑ You may copy im ag es from a digital video camera using Memo ry Stick
media.
❑ Only MagicGate Memory Stick media can be used with cop yright protected
data such as music.
❑ Copyright protected music cannot be checked-out to any Memory Stick
media other than MG Memory Stick media.
❑ Recorded music is limited to private use only. Using recorded music for any
other purpose requires permission of the copyright holders.
❑ Sony is not responsible for music files that cannot be recorded from a CD or
downloaded from ot her sources.
❑ Formatting Mem ory Stick media erases all dat a (including musi c data)
previously saved to it. Before you format Mem ory Stick media, confirm that
the media does not contain files you want to keep.
❑ Do not use the media in locations that are subject to static electricity or
electrical noise.
❑ Do not touch the media connector with your finger or metal lic obj ects.
