Features Field recording/field playback Since this VCR uses the EP mode to record the picture in shorter intervals, you can record more information than the normal time lapse VCR. Example: In 168H recording mode using T-120 tape: This VCR can record about 2.1 fields per second, while the normal time lapse VCR records 0.7 fields. Because single fields can be recorded one by one in time lapse mode and all fields can be viewed separately during playback, you can record more information.

Setting the Buzzers You can turn on/off three types of buzzers: • ALARM IN buzzer: beeps while it receives an alarm signal. Handling a Video Cassette This section shows you how to insert a video cassette into the VCR. Inserting a Video Cassette Cassette compartment Selecting the Tape This VCR is designed and calibrated with 120-mimute or 160-minute tape (T-120 or T-160). To ensure stable operation and optimum picture quality, we recommend that you use a Sony 120-minute tape for recording for more than 40-hour recording mode. To select the tape You can select either T-120 tape or T-160 tape on the GENERAL SET menu.
Handling a Video Cassette Protecting Your Cassette from Being Erased Remove the tab on the cassette with a screwdriver or a similar tool as shown below. This protects your cassette against an accidental recording. Safety tab If you want to record again on the cassette without its safety tab, simply cover the safety tab hole with a piece of plastic tape.
Setting the Operation Mode You can set the mode for the VCR when a video cassette is inserted on the GENERAL SET menu. 4 Press MENU V to move the flashing to the setting of TAPE IN MODE and set STOP or REC by pressing MENU + or –. Locking the Record Mode — Security Lock Function Locking the record mode is useful to guard against accidental recording interruptions when the VCR is used for surveillance or monitoring purposes. Recording on the Same Cassette Repeatedly — Repeat Recording You can record on the same cassette repeatedly in two different modes: REPEAT 1 and REPEAT 2. To set the security lock While pressing MENU B, press MENU +. The indicator lights in the display window.
Recording 6 7 Press SEARCH to return to the normal display. Press REC z. Recording begins. Note If the REPEAT REC switch is set to OFF while repeat recording is in progress, recording proceeds until the end of the tape is reached and then stops automatically after the tape is rewound to the beginning. Recording after Power Interruption or Moisture Condensation If a power interruption occurs, the P indicator lights in the display window and if a moisture condensation occurs, the “dddd” indicator flashes. Even if a power interruption or moisture condensation occurs while recording, the internal batteries provide backup power for memory for at least 30 days. The internal batteries can be charged in about 48 hours.

When the REPEAT REC switch is set to ON Follows the steps 2 through 6 in “Recording on the Same Cassette Repeatedly — Repeat Recording” on page 21. Checking the tape thread To ensure correct operation, the VCR automatically checks the tape threading whenever you insert a tape, and it takes about 5 seconds. If an error is detected, the VCR ejects the tape.
Recording Checking the Number of Times the Tape Was Used You can check how many times the tape has been used in the GENERAL SET menu. The number of times will be displayed on the display window. The number of times is recorded on the beginning of the tape. 5 Press SEARCH to return to the normal display. To return to the MAIN MENU screen from the current menu Press MENU again. Timer Recording You can set the timer recording to either: day-of-theweek recording or daily recording. Before starting, make sure that the time and date are set properly. (See page 13.) Timer Recording Daily Recording Recording Using an External Timer You can preset the timer to record Monday through Sunday (MON-SUN), Monday through Saturday (MON-SAT) or Monday through Friday (MON-FRI). 1 Press V to move the flashing to the line of WEEK you want. 2 Set the day by pressing MENU + or – before setting the hour position of START in step 5.
8 9 Setting the Holiday Insert the cassette. Press TIMER. The VCR turns off automatically, and enters the timer recording standby mode. The indicator appears in the display window. When no cassette is inserted, the indicator flashes and a beep sounds. When the input signal from the EXT TIMER terminal becomes low, recording starts and the EXT indicator appears in the display window.
Timer Recording Changing/Cancelling the Timer Settings When indicator lights in the display window, press TIMER again to clear it. Alarm Recording You can use a door switch or alarm sensor to trigger alarm recording. Alarm Recording 5 Press MENU V to move the flashing to the setting of ALARM DURATION and set 20sec, 40sec, 1min, 2min, 3min, 4min, 5min or CC by pressing MENU + or –. 4 Set ALARM MODE to A1, A2, A3 or OFF by pressing MENU + or –. A (alarm)1: always accepts alarms. A2: accepts alarms only when timer recording is proceeding. A3: accepts alarms only when timer recording is not proceeding. OFF: does not accept alarm even if an alarm signal is received. 5 Press SEARCH to return to the normal display.
Indicators during alarm recording The AL indicator flashes in the display window. Searching the Picture of the Alarm Recordings — Alarm Search The count of the alarm recording flashes on the monitor screen. The alarm recording can be counted up to 999. When the alarm function has worked 1000 times, the count number returns to 000.

When the alarm data reaches more than 100 The oldest one will be erased. To reset the alarm data Press MENU RESET while the ALARM DATA menu is on the screen. The alarm count shows “000”. Recording the Alarm Data on the Tape ON (in recording mode): when the recording comes to the end, the VCR rewinds the tape to the beginning and starts recording the alarm data on the ALARM DATA menu up to 100 data. ON (in playback mode): 1 When the tape is inserted, the VCR rewinds the tape to the beginning.
Alarm Recording OFF (in recording mode): the VCR does not record the alarm data on the tape. OFF (in playback mode): the VCR enters normal alarm search mode. 5 Press SEARCH to release the alarm data search mode. To return to MAIN MENU from the current menu Press MENU again. To go to the next menu from the current menu Press MENU V until “NEXT PUSH B” flashes and press MENU B. Notes • When ALARM DATA REC is set to ON, the VCR automatically rewinds the tape when inserted.
Playback Playback speed You can view the playback picture at one of the following speeds. Searching for the Time and Date — Time/Date Search 3 Press REC/PLAY SPEED + or – to set the date and press MENU B to move the flashing to the time. Press + or – to set the time. 4 Press FF M or REW m. The cassette stops at the portion when you set the time and date and the still picture playback is displayed. The time/date search mode is automatically cleared. Notes • If the tape reaches its end during searching, the tape is rewound and the unit enters the stop mode at the beginning of the tape.
Various Playback Modes You can play back picture at various modes: reverse playback, still and field by field pictures, and highspeed playback in both forward and reverse directions. Field-by-Field Picture In the still mode, press FF M or REW m. Each time you press the button, the picture advances by one field. When you hold the button down, the picture advances continuously.
Maintenance We recommend you check the VCR daily to confirm that the VCR works correctly. When the security lock is in effect, release it before operating. Perform the following checks before starting to record. 1 2 Turn on the camera, monitor, and this VCR. 3 Confirm that the time and date display on the monitor is correct. Confirm that the picture from the camera appears on the monitor screen.
Terminals WARNING OUT Terminal TAPE END OUT Terminal This terminal will help you to know when something wrong has happened to the VCR during recording. The VCR outputs a pulse signal from WARNING OUT terminal. COM terminal When the VCR detects the tape end or the time counter shows “6H” or “8H” (depending on the TAPE setting of the GENERAL SET menu) during recording, the output level becomes 0 V DC. To resume the 5 V output, press the operation button (EJECT Z, REC z, FF M, REW m or PLAY B, etc.).

Command Reference AUDIO/SEARCH (22H) When this command is sent while playing in the 12/24 hour mode, the sound switches on/off. During stop, the VCR enters alarm search/scan or date/ time search mode. When the menu is displayed, this command ends the menu. EJECT (A3H) Ejects the tape. The VCR returns ACK (0AH) as soon as it receives this command, then returns to CASSETTE OUT (03H) after it ejects the tape. REC/DUB REQUEST (FAH) Send this command just before you send the REC (CAH) command.
VCR Setup Commands R/P SPEED SET (7EH) Sets the recording/playback speed. Send 3 bytes of numeric data (30H to 39H) after the R/P SPEED SET (7EH) command and then send the end command (40H). Example: Setting the speed to 24H RXD 7E 30 32 34 40 TXD 0A 0A 0A 0A 0A COUNT RESET (E2H) Resets the counter. CLOCK ADJUST (E0H) When this command is sent during stop, it resets the minute and second to 00 . For example, when this command is sent between 13:30:00 and 14:29:59, the clock is reset to 14:00:00.

NOT TARGET (05H) Notifies that the tape has come to the end or beginning without the search/scan point being located, as well as that the search/scan has been canceled.

Manipulation d’une cassette vidéo Cette section vous présente comment insérer une cassette vidéo dans le magnétoscope. Introduction d’une cassette vidéo Compartiment à cassette Sélection de la bande Ce magnétoscope est conçu et calibré pour des cassettes de 120 minutes ou 160 minutes (T-120 ou T160). Pour assurer un fonctionnement stable et une qualité d’image optimale, nous vous recommandons d’utiliser des cassettes Sony de 120 minutes pour un enregistrement de plus de 40 heures.
Manipulation d’une cassette vidéo Protection de votre cassette contre l’effacement Otez la languette de protection de la cassette au moyen d’un tournevis ou d’un objet similaire comme illustré ci-dessous. Cette opération protègera vos cassettes contre un enregistrement accidentel. Languette de protection Si vous désirez réenregistrer sur une cassette dépourvue de sa languette, couvrez simplement l’orifice au moyen de papier collant.
Réglage du mode de fonctionnement Vous pouvez régler le mode d’enregistrement dans le menu REGL. Enregistrement Cette section vous présente comment enregistrer le signal d’une caméra vidéo en mode normal ou accéléré, comment régler le verrouillage de sécurité et comment enregistrer plusieurs fois sur la même cassette. 4 Appuyez sur REC z. Verrouillage du mode d’enregistrement — Fonction de verrouillage de sécurité Le verrouillage du mode d’enregistrement est utile pour empêcher une interruption accidentelle d’un enregistrement lorsque le magnétoscope est utilisé à des fins de surveillance. Enregistrement répété sur une même cassette — Enregistrement répété Vous pouvez enregistrer plusieurs fois sur la même cassette dans deux modes différents: REPET 1 et REPET 2.

Enregistrement après une coupure de courant ou de la condensation d’humidité Si une coupure de courant a lieu, l’indicateur P s’allume dans la fenêtre d’affichage et si de la condensation d’humidité se dépose, l’indicateur “dddd” se met à clignoter. Même si une coupure d’alimentation se produit ou si de la condensation d’humidité se dépose pendant l’enregistrement, les batteries internes assurent une alimentation de secours de la mémoire pendant au moins 30 jours.

Modes de lecture variés Vous pouvez lire une image dans différents modes: lecture inversée, image fixe et image par image, lecture à haute vitesse en avant et en arrière. Image par image En mode d’arrêt sur image, appuyez sur FF M ou REW m. Chaque fois que vous appuyez sur cette touche, l’image avance image par image. Lorsque vous maintenez cette touche enfoncée, l’image avance en continu.
Entretien Nous vous recommandons de vérifier le magnétoscope chaque jour pour vous assurer qu’il fonctionne correctement. Lorsque le verrouillage de sécurité est effectif, désactivez-le avant de le faire fonctionner. Effectuez les vérifications suivantes avant de commencer un enregistrement. 1 Mettez la caméra, le moniteur et ce magnétoscope sous tension. 2 Assurez-vous que l’image de la caméra apparaît sur l’écran du moniteur.

Características Grabación/reproducción de campo Puesto que esta videograbadora utiliza el modo EP para grabar la imagen en intervalos más cortos, es posible grabar más información que con una videograbadora de grabación a intervalos normal. Manejo de videocasetes En esta sección se describe cómo insertar un videocasete en la videograbadora. Inserción de videocasetes Compartimiento de videocasetes Selección de la cinta Esta videograbadora está diseñada y calibrada con cintas de 120 o 160 minutos (T-120 o T-160). Para garantizar una funcionamiento estable y una óptima calidad de imagen, se recomienda que utilice cintas Sony de 120 minutos para grabar durante más de 40 horas.
Manejo de videocasetes Protección del videocasete contra borrado Extraiga la lengüeta del videocasete con un destornillador o herramienta similar como se muestra a continuación. De esta forma se protege el videocasete contra grabaciones accidentales. Lengüeta de seguridad Si desea grabar de nuevo en el videocasete sin lengüeta de seguridad, basta con cubrir el orificio de dicha lengüeta con un trozo de cinta adhesiva.
Ajuste del modo de funcionamiento Es posible ajustar el modo para la videograbadora al insertar un videocasete en el menú AJUSTE GENERAL. 4 Pulse MENU V para que el parpadeo se desplace al ajuste de INSERCION CINTA y defina PARO o GRABAR pulsando MENU + o –. Grabación En esta sección se describe cómo grabar la señal de la cámara de vídeo en el modo normal o en el de grabación a intervalos, cómo ajustar el bloqueo de seguridad y cómo grabar de forma repetida en el mismo videocasete. 4 Pulse REC z. Se inicia la grabación. Para detener la grabación Pulse STOP x. Si la grabación no se inicia y el videocasete se expulsa Significa que se ha extraído la lengüeta del videocasete para protegerlo contra grabaciones accidentales.
Bloqueo del modo de grabación — Función Bloqueo de seguridad El bloqueo del modo de grabación resulta útil para evitar interrupciones accidentales de la grabación cuando la videograbadora se utiliza con fines de vigilancia o control. Grabación en el mismo videocasete de forma repetida — Repetición de grabación Es posible grabar en el mismo videocasete de forma repetida en dos modos diferentes: REPEAT 1 y REPEAT 2. Para ajustar el bloqueo de seguridad Pulse MENU + mientras pulsa MENU B.
Grabación 6 7 Pulse SEARCH para recuperar la pantalla normal. Pulse REC z. Se inicia la grabación. Nota Si el interruptor REPEAT REC se ajusta en OFF mientras la repetición de grabación está realizándose, la grabación continuará hasta que la cinta llegue al final y, a continuación, se detendrá automáticamente una vez que dicha cinta se haya rebobinado hasta el principio. El indicador OFF se iluminará en el visor. Para volver a la pantalla MENU PRINCIPAL desde el menú actual Vuelva a pulsar MENU.
Grabación tras producirse una interrupción en el suministro de alimentación o condensación de humedad Si se produce una interrupción en el suministro de alimentación, el indicador P se iluminará en el visor, mientras que si se produce condensación de humedad, el indicador “dddd” parpadeará. Aunque se produzcan dichos acontecimientos durante la grabación, las pilas internas proporcionarán alimentación de reserva para la memoria durante al menos 30 días. Dichas pilas pueden cargarse en unas 48 horas.

Cuando la cinta llega al final El indicador OFF se ilumina en el visor. Pulse EJECT Z, REC z, FF M, REW m o PLAY B para desactivar el indicador OFF. Si el interruptor REPEAT REC se ajusta en ON Realice los pasos 2 a 6 de “Grabación en el mismo videocasete de forma repetida — Repetición de grabación” en la página 133.
Grabación Comprobación del número de veces que se ha utilizado la cinta Es posible averiguar el número de veces que se ha utilizado la cinta mediante el menú AJUSTE GENERAL. Este número aparece en el visor y se graba al principio de la cinta. 5 Pulse SEARCH para recuperar la pantalla normal. Grabación con temporizador Es posible programar la grabación con temporizador para que se realice un día de la semana o diariamente. Antes de comenzar, asegúrese de que la hora y la fecha están correctamente ajustadas. (Consulte la página 125.) Puede realizar grabaciones con alarma en los modos de grabación, de parada y de desactivación de alimentación con la velocidad de grabación seleccionada. 3 Pulse MENU B. Aparecerá el menú AJUSTE ALARMA.
Grabación con alarma 5 Pulse MENU V para que el parpadeo se desplace al ajuste de DURACION ALARMA y defina 20s, 40s, 1min, 2min, 3min, 4min, 5min o CC pulsando MENU + o –.
Indicadores durante la grabación con alarma El indicador AL parpadea en el visor. Búsqueda de imágenes de las grabaciones con alarma — Búsqueda de alarmas El recuento de la grabación con alarma parpadea en la pantalla del monitor. Las grabaciones con alarma pueden contarse hasta 999. Cuando la función de alarma se ha activado 1000 veces, el número de recuento vuelve a ser 000.

Grabación con alarma OFF (en el modo de grabación): la videograbadora no graba los datos de alarma en la cinta. OFF (en el modo de reproducción): la videograbadora entra en el modo normal de búsqueda de alarmas. 5 Pulse SEARCH para cancelar el modo de búsqueda de datos de alarmas. Búsqueda de la hora y la fecha — Búsqueda de hora/fecha 3 Pulse REC/PLAY SPEED + o – para definir la fecha y pulse MENU B para desplazar el parpadeo hasta la hora. Pulse + o – para ajustar la hora. 4 Pulse FF M o REW m. El videocasete se detendrá en la parte en la que haya ajustado la hora y la fecha y aparecerá una imagen fija. El modo de búsqueda de hora/fecha se cancelará automáticamente.
Diversos modos de reproducción Es posible reproducir la imagen en distintos modos: reproducción en sentido inverso, imágenes fijas y campo por campo y reproducción a alta velocidad en sentido progresivo e inverso. Imagen campo por campo En el modo de imagen fija, pulse FF M o REW m. Cada vez que pulse el botón, la imagen avanzará un campo. Si mantiene el botón pulsado, la imagen avanzará continuamente.
Mantenimiento Se recomienda que examine la videograbadora diariamente para confirmar que funciona correctamente. Si el bloqueo de seguridad está activado, cancélelo antes del empleo. Realice las siguientes comprobaciones antes de comenzar a grabar. 1 Encienda la cámara, el monitor y esta videograbadora. 2 Compruebe que la imagen de la cámara aparece en la pantalla del monitor. 3 Compruebe que la indicación de hora y fecha del monitor es correcta.
Terminales Terminal WARNING OUT Terminal TAPE END OUT Este terminal ayuda a saber cuándo le ha ocurrido algo anormal a la videograbadora durante la grabación. La unidad enviará una señal de impulsos a través del terminal WARNING OUT. Terminal COM Terminal WARNING OUT Cuando la videograbadora detecta el final de la cinta o si el contador de tiempo muestra “6H” u “8H” (dependiendo del ajuste CINTA del menú AJUSTE GENERAL) durante la grabación, el nivel de salida será de 0 V CC.

Referencia de comandos SECURITY LOCK ON (69H) Se activa el bloqueo de seguridad. SECURITY LOCK OFF (7AH) El bloqueo de seguridad se desactiva. AUDIO/SEARCH (22H) Si se envía este comando durante la reproducción en el modo de 12/24 horas, el sonido se activa/desactiva. Durante la parada, la videograbadora entrará en el modo de exploración/búsqueda de alarmas o de búsqueda de fecha/hora. Si se muestra el menú, este comando permitirá salir de él. EJECT (A3H) La cinta se expulsa.
Comandos de configuración de la videograbadora R/P SPEED SET (7EH) Se ajusta la velocidad de grabación/reproducción. Envíe 3 bytes de datos numéricos (30H a 39H) después del comando R/P SPEED SET (7EH) y, a continuación, envíe el comando final (40H). Referencia de comandos STATUS SENSE (D7H) En respuesta a este comando, la videograbadora indica el modo de funcionamiento utilizando 5 bytes. Ejemplo: si el número del grupo es 2 TXD 6D 0A RXD 00 GROUP CLEAR (6EH) Se borra el número de grupo.
