To install the display horizontally or vertically To adjust the angle This display can be installed either horizontally or vertically using the supplied display stand. Open the display stand until the click sound is heard. Put the display on the stand, aligning the mark which shows the stand position on the display. To switch to the horizontal or vertical viewing position, see page 10. This display can be adjusted within the angles shown below with the supplied display stand.
Identifying parts and controls See the pages in parentheses for further details. LCD display 1 1 (Power) switch and indicator (pages 9, 17, 21) This switch turns the display on and off. The indicator lights up in green when the monitor is turned on. The indicator lights up in orange when the monitor is in power saving mode. 2 MENU button (page 13) This button displays the main menu. Front 3 6 (contrast) button (page 13) This button displays the CONTRAST menu.
qg HD15 (RGB) input 2 connector (INPUT2) (page 8) This connector inputs RGB video signals (0.700 Vp-p, positive) and SYNC signals. The pin assignment is the same as qf. Media engine SYSTEM CONNECTER (TO DISPLAY) qh AC IN connector (page 9) This connector provides AC power to the monitor. INPUT 1 qj AC power switch (page 9) This switch turns the media engine on and off. When the AC power switch is turned on or off, the display automatically turns on or off.
x Connecting to a Macintosh or compatible computer Setup Use the supplied Macintosh adapter.
Step 3: Connect the power cord With the display, media engine, and computer switched off, first connect the power cord to the media engine, then connect it to a power outlet. to AC IN to a power outlet If no picture appears on your screen • Check that the monitor is correctly connected to the computer. • Check that the media engine is on. • If NO INPUT SIGNAL appears on the screen, the computer is in the power saving mode. Try pressing any key on the keyboard or moving the mouse.
Installing the display vertically To close the display stand While sliding the stopper up, close the display stand. This display can be installed either horizontally or vertically using the supplied display stand. To switch to the horizontal or vertical viewing position First install the supplied WinPortrait (for Windws 95/98 and NT4.0) or MacPortrait (for Macintosh). To switch the view, press Shift + Ctrl + R on the keyboard. For more information, see the supplied software’s instruction manual.
Selecting the on-screen menu language (LANGUAGE) Selecting the input signal English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese versions of the on-screen menus are available. The default setting is English. 1 Press the MENU button. You can connect two computers to this monitor using the INPUT 1 and INPUT 2 connectors. To select one of the two computers, use the INPUT button. Press the INPUT button.
Customizing Your Monitor Before making adjustments 4 V CENTER (page 14) Select the V CENTER menu to adjust the picture’s vertical centering. V CENT ER 25 Connect the monitor and the computer, and turn them on. Wait for at least 30 minutes before making adjustments for the best result. You can make numerous adjustments to your monitor using the on-screen menu.
x Using the MENU, M(+)/m(–), and OK buttons 1 Display the main menu. Press the MENU button to display the main menu on your screen. MENU Adjusting the contrast (CONTRAST) Contrast adjustment is made using a separate CONTRAST menu from the main menu (page 12). This setting is stored in memory for the signal from the currently selected input connector. 1 Press the 6 (contrast) button. The CONTRAST menu appears on the screen. CONTRAS T 70 2 Select the menu you want to adjust.
Eliminating flicker or blurring (PHASE/PITCH) When the monitor receives an input signal, the automatic picture quality function of this monitor is activated. This function automatically adjusts the phase, pitch, and picture position to ensure that a clear picture appears on the screen. For more information about this function, see “Automatic picture quality adjustment function” on page 17. For some input signals, this function may not completely adjust the phase, pitch, and picture position.
Displaying a low-resolution signal at the actual resolution (ZOOM) This monitor is preset at the factory to display pictures on the screen in full, irrespective of the picture’s mode or resolution. You can also view the picture at its actual resolution. 4 If necessary, fine tune the color temperature. First press the M(+)/m(–) buttons to select ADJUST and press the OK button.
Resetting the adjustments (RESET) Additional settings (Option) You can reset the adjustments. You can adjust the following options: • BASS BOOST • BACKLIGHT • POWER SAVE • LANGUAGE • MENU LOCK 1 Press the MENU button. The main menu appears on the screen. 2 Press the M(+)/m(–) buttons to select 0 (RESET) and press the OK button. The RESET menu appears on the screen.
Technical Features Power saving function This monitor meets the power-saving guidelines set by VESA, NUTEK, and ENERGY STAR. If the monitor is connected to a computer or graphics board that is DPMS (Display Power Management Signaling) compliant, the monitor will automatically enter the power saving mode.
If CABLE DISCONNECTED appears on the screen Troubleshooting This indicates that the video signal cable has been disconnected from the currently selected connector. Before contacting technical support, refer to this section. I NFORMA T I ON On-screen messages CAB L E D I SCONNECT ED I NPUT : 1 GO TO POWER SAVE If there is something wrong with the input signal, one of the following messages appears on the screen. To solve the problem, see “Trouble symptoms and remedies” on page 19.
Trouble symptoms and remedies If a problem is caused by the connected computer or other equipment, please refer to the connected equipment’s instruction manual. Use the self-diagnosis function (page 21) if the following recommendations do not resolve the problem. Self-diagnosis function Specifications This monitor is equipped with a self-diagnosis function. If there is a problem with your monitor or computer(s), the screen will go blank and the display’s 1 (power) indicator will either light up green or flash orange. If the 1 (power) indicator is lit in orange, the computer is in power saving mode. Try pressing any key on the keyboard or moving the mouse.

Etape 3: Raccordez le câble d’alimentation L’écran, le moteur de médias et l’ordinateur étant hors tension, connectez d’abord le câble d’alimentation au moteur de médias, puis connectez celui-ci à une prise électrique. vers AC IN vers une prise secteur Câble d’alimentation (fourni) Etape 4: Mettez le moniteur et l’ordinateur sous tension 1 Mettez le moteur de médias sous tension. L’écran s’allume automatiquement. Les indicateurs de l’écran et du moteur de médias s’allument en vert.
Installation de l’écran en position verticale Pour refermer le support de l’écran Tout en faisant glisser la butée d’arrêt vers le haut, fermez le support de l’écran. Cet écran peut être installé horizontalement ou verticalement à l’aide du support fourni. Pour changer la positon de visualisation horizontale ou verticale Installez dans un premier temps le logiciel WinPortrait (pour Windows 95/98 et NT4.0) ou MacPortrait (pour Macintosh).
Sélection de la langue d’affichage à l’écran (LANGUAGE) Les menus peuvent être affichés en anglais, allemand, français, italien et japonais. La langue par défaut est l’anglais. Sélection du signal d’entrée Vous pouvez raccorder deux ordinateurs à ce moniteur via les connecteurs INPUT 1 et INPUT 2. Pour sélectionner l’un des deux ordinateurs, utilisez la touche INPUT. Appuyez sur la touche INPUT.
Personnalisation de votre moniteur 4 CENTRAGE V (page 14) Sélectionnez le menu CENTRAGE V pour ajuster le centrage vertical de l’image. CENTREGE V 25 Avant de procéder aux réglages… Raccordez le moniteur et l’ordinateur et mettez-les sous tension. Pour obtenir les meilleurs résultats, attendez au moins 30 minutes avant d’effectuer les réglages. EX I T Vous pouvez effectuer de nombreux réglages de votre moniteur à l’aide des menus à l’écran.
x Utilisation des touches MENU, M(+)/m(–) et OK 1 Affichez le menu principal. Appuyez sur la touche MENU pour afficher le menu principal sur votre écran. Réglage du contraste (CONTRASTE) Le réglage du contraste se fait via un menu CONTRASTE distinct du menu principal (page 12). Ce réglage est enregistré dans la mémoire pour le signal du connecteur d’entrée actuellement sélectionné. 1 Appuyez sur la touche 6 (contraste). MENU Le menu CONTRASTE apparaît à l’écran.
Suppression du scintillement ou du flou (PHASE/HORLOGE) Lorsque le moniteur reçoit un signal d’entrée, la fonction de qualité automatique de l’image de ce moniteur est activée. Cette fonction ajuste automatiquement la phase, la profondeur et la position de l’image pour qu’une image précise soit affichée à l’écran. Pour plus d’informations sur cette fonction, reportezvous à “Fonction de réglage automatique de la qualité de l’image” à la page 17.
Affichage d’un signal de faible résolution à la résolution en cours (ZOOM) Ce moniteur est réglé par défaut pour afficher des images sur toute la surface de l’écran, quel que soit le mode ou la résolution de l’image. Vous pouvez également visualiser l’image à sa résolution réelle. 1 Appuyez sur la touche MENU. Spécifications techniques Fonction d’économie d’énergie Ce moniteur répond aux directives sur les économies d’énergie définies par VESA, NUTEK et ENERGY STAR. Si le moniteur est raccordé à un ordinateur ou à une carte graphique compatible avec la norme DPMS (Display Power Management Signaling), le moniteur passera automatiquement en mode d’économie d’énergie.

Fonction d’autodiagnostic Le moniteur est équipé d’une fonction d’auto-diagnostic. En cas de problème avec le moniteur ou l’ordinateur, rien n’est affiché à l’écran et 1’indicateur 1 (alimentation) de l’écran s’allume en vert ou clignote en orange. Si l’indicateur 1 (alimentation) est allumé en orange, cela signifie que l’ordinateur se trouve en mode d’économie d’énergie. Appuyez sur une touche quelconque du clavier ou déplacez la souris.

Klappen Sie den Bildschirmständer so weit auf, bis ein Klicken zu hören ist. Setzen Sie den Bildschirm auf den Ständer, und richten Sie die Markierung für die Ständerposition am Bildschirm aus. x Anschließen an einen Macintosh oder kompatiblen Computer Installation Verwenden Sie den mitgelieferten Macintosh-Adapter.
Schritt 3: Anschließen des Netzkabels Bildschirm, Media-Engine und Computer müssen ausgeschaltet sein. Schließen Sie zuerst das Netzkabel an die Media-Engine an, und stecken Sie dann den Netzstecker in eine Netzsteckdose. an Netzeingang an Netzsteckdose Netzkabel (mitgeliefert) Schritt 4: Einschalten von Monitor und Computer 1 Schalten Sie die Media-Engine ein. Einstellen des Monitors Vor dem Einstellen Verbinden Sie den Monitor mit dem Computer, und schalten Sie beide Geräte ein. Die besten Ergebnisse erzielen Sie, wenn Sie mindestens 30 Minuten warten, bevor Sie Einstellungen vornehmen. Mit den Bildschirmmenüs können Sie eine Vielzahl von Einstellungen vornehmen.
