Location of controls Turning the unit on/off Refer to the pages listed for details. To turn the unit on/off a VOICE/POS. button 6, 7 During route guidance: To hear the next voice guidance. In the menu display: To show the map. In the map display: To show your current car position. Press ?/1 (4). Note If you do not use the unit for a long term, the built-in battery may be depleted, and the unit will not turn on. In such a case, connect the car battery adapter and charge the unit.
Basic Operations Common procedures to operate the system are explained. General operations can be performed on the touch screen. Touch the displayed icons with your finger gently. Note Do not press the display with excessive force, or use any sharp article, such as a pen, etc., to tap on the display. Menu operation The top menu appears when turning on the unit by pressing ?/1 (except during route guidance, in which case the map appears).
Keyboard operation The keyboard display appears when you need to enter text. You need only enter characters in upper case, as the system automatically converts them to appropriate characters. You can enter special characters when necessary. Candidate/entry field Number of candidates Route Searching The system searches for routes automatically after setting the destination. Before starting, check that GPS signals are sufficient for navigation (page 5).
4 Select “Calculate Route.” The route is calculated, and route guidance starts. Setting the destination in other ways You can also set the destination and search for routes by the following methods. From the top menu, select the items in the following order, then “Calculate Route” (if necessary). For details, see the supplied PDF manual. Search Nearby Searches for routes to a POI, such as restaurant, hotel, etc., near the current car position. Select “Search Nearby,” then any of the following options.

Additional Information About the “Memory Stick” What is “Memory Stick”? “Memory Stick” is a compact-size IC recording medium with a large capacity. It has been designed not only for exchanging/sharing digital data among “Memory Stick” compatible products, but also for serving as an insertable/ removable external storage medium that can save data. Types of “Memory Stick Duo” that the system can use With the system, you can use the following types of “Memory Stick Duo.
Note on LCD panel Some stationary blue, red or green dots may appear on the monitor. These are called “bright spots,” and can happen with any LCD. The LCD panel is precision-manufactured with more than 99.99 % of its segments functional. However, it is possible that a small percentage (typically 0.01 %) of the segments may not light up properly. This will not, however, interfere with your viewing.

• In folgenden Fällen können Daten beschädigt werden: – Während eines Lesevorgangs wird der „Memory Stick Duo“ herausgenommen oder das System ausgeschaltet. – Sie verwenden den „Memory Stick Duo“ in einer Umgebung mit statischer Elektrizität oder elektrischen Störfeldern. • Es empfiehlt sich, von wichtigen Daten eine Sicherungskopie anzulegen. • Biegen Sie den „Memory Stick Duo“ nicht, lassen Sie ihn nicht fallen und setzen Sie ihn keinen heftigen Stößen aus.
Achtung Verwenden Sie unter keinen Umständen eine Sicherung mit einem höheren Ampere-Wert als dem der Sicherung, die ursprünglich mit dem Gerät geliefert wurde. De ingebouwde batterij kan niet worden opgeladen. t Druk op ?/1 om het apparaat in te schakelen en druk nogmaals op de toets om het apparaat weer uit te schakelen. t Als de accuadapter voor de auto wordt gebruikt, moet u deze uit de aanstekeraansluiting halen en opnieuw aansluiten. t De ingebouwde lithium-ionbatterij kan worden opgeladen bij temperaturen tussen 5 – 45 ºC. De batterij mag niet worden opgeladen als de temperatuur in het apparaat oploopt vanwege direct zonlicht, enzovoort. Dit is geen storing.

Non è possibile ricevere il segnale GPS. Operaciones con el teclado La pantalla de teclado aparece cuando hay que introducir texto. Sólo debe introducir los caracteres en mayúsculas, ya que el sistema los convierte automáticamente en los caracteres adecuados. Es posible introducir caracteres especiales siempre que sea necesario.
4 “Nº” o “Transversal”*2 Aparece la pantalla de confirmación de dirección. Búsqueda de rutas El sistema busca las rutas automáticamente después de indicar el destino. Antes de empezar, compruebe que se reciben señales GPS suficientes para la navegación (página 5). Indicación del destino e inicio de las instrucciones A continuación, se explica el procedimiento de búsqueda de la ruta e inicio de las instrucciones de ruta.
Navegar Seleccione “Navegar” y, a continuación, alguna de las siguientes opciones. “Destino esp. nacional” Ajuste un área de búsqueda amplia con categorías de búsqueda limitadas. Nota sobre el panel LCD Es posible que aparezcan algunos puntos fijos azules, rojos o verdes en la pantalla. Se conocen como “puntos brillantes” y pueden aparecer en cualquier pantalla LCD. Las pantallas LCD se fabrican con tecnología de precisión, y más de un 99,99 % de sus segmentos son funcionales. Operações básicas Neste capítulo explicam-se os procedimentos normais de utilização do sistema. As operações básicas são efectuadas carregando no ecrã táctil. Utilização do teclado Quando precisar de introduzir texto aparece o ecrã do teclado.
