Playing a disc with MP3 files About MP3 files MP3 (MPEG 1 Audio Layer-3) is a standard technology and format for compressing a sound sequence. The file is compressed to about 1/10 of its original size. Sounds outside the range of human hearing are compressed while the sounds we can hear are not compressed. Playback of same MP3 files may not be possible, depending on the recording. The encoding method (i.e., the bit rate selected for encoding) will affect the sound quality of the MP3 files created.
The playback order of the MP3 files The playback order of the folders and files as follows. Folder (album) MP3 files (tracks) Notes • A folder that does not include an MP3 file is skipped. • When you insert a disc with many trees, it takes a longer time to start playback. We recommended that you make only one or two trees for each disc. • The maximum number of MP3 files and folders is 300, and the maximum number of folders is 150 (including the root folder and empty folders).
