Recording
Changing the recording setting
You can select the recording format (bit-
rate, image size, frame rate, scanning
system). The default setting is as follows:
NTSC model: 1080/60i
PAL model: 1080/50i
1 Press the MENU button.

FH: 1,920×1,080/1,280×720
HQ: 1,440×1,080/1,280×720
LP: 1,440×1,080
• Frame rate
NTSC model: Either 60 or 30 or 24
PAL model: Either 50 or 25
• Scanning system
i: interlace
p: progressive
If you select [1080/60i ] (NTSC model)
or [1080/50i ] (PAL model), for
example, movies are recorded with
following format.
• 1080: Effective scanning lines
• 60, 50: Frame rate
• i: Scanning system
• FX: Recording mode
Frame rate at 60i (NTSC model)
The frame rate displayed on the LCD
screen differs from the actual frame rate.
b Notes
• Movies recorded with the recording mode set to
PS or FX on [ REC FORMAT] can be
saved on an external media device only (p. 102).
• When [SIMUL/RELAY REC] is set to [MP4
SIMUL REC], [ REC FORMAT] cannot
be set to [1080/60p PS] (NTSC model) or
[1080/50p PS] (PAL model).
z Tips
• The recording format of 720/60i HQ (NTSC
model) or 720/50i HQ (PAL model) is
automatically selected for the standard
definition image quality (DV) recording.
