Troubleshooting
When you are using one of the following
discs after finalizing it, make the disc to be
able to record additional scenes (p. 80). Or
use a new disc.
DVD+RW
DVD-RW recorded with HD (high
definition) image quality
DVD-RW (VIDEO mode) recorded with
SD (standard definition) image quality
The temperature of your camcorder is
extremely high. Turn off your camcorder
and leave it for a while in a cool place.
Moisture condensation has occurred. Turn
off your camcorder and leave it for about 1
hour (p. 132).
Total number of still images exceeds the
recordable capacity of your camcorder
(p. 90). Delete unnecessary images (p. 57).
You cannot record a still image.
You cannot record a still image during
recording a movie together with:
[SMTH SLW REC]
[FADER]
[D.EFFECT]
[PICT.EFFECT]
You cannot record a still image on a disc
on your camcorder.
The ACCESS lamp/access lamp
lights up even when you stop
recording.
Your camcorder is recording the image
data you have just record on the media.
The recording angle looks different.
The recording angle may look different
depending on the mode of your camcorder.
This is not a malfunction.
The flash does not work.
You cannot record with the flash when
capturing still images while recording a
movie (p. 41).
Even if [FLASH MODE] is set to [AUTO],
you cannot use the flash with:
NightShot
[MANUAL] in [EXPOSURE]
[SPOT METER]
[TWILIGHT], [CANDLE],
[SUNRISE&SUNSET], [FIREWORKS]
[LANDSCAPE], [SPOTLIGHT],
[BEACH] or [SNOW] in [SCENE
SELECTION]
[SUPER NIGHTSHOT]
The actual recording time for movie
is less than the expected
approximate recording time.
Depending on the recording situation, such
as recording a fast moving object, the time
available for recording may shorten (p. 17,
p. 33).
The recording stops.
The temperature of your camcorder is
extremely high. Turn off your camcorder
and leave it for a while in a cool place.

There is a time difference between
the point where you press START/
STOP and the point that the
recorded movie starts/stops.
On your camcorder, there may be a slight
time difference between the point where
you press START/STOP and the actual
point that recording movie starts/stops.
This is not a malfunction.
The movie aspect ratio (16:9/4:3)
cannot be changed.
You cannot change the aspect ratio when:
recording movies with HD (high
definition) image quality.
recording movies on DVD+RW with SD
(standard definition) image quality.
