x LEVEL
You can vary the level of each speaker as
follows. Be sure to set “TEST TONE” to “ON”
for easy adjustment.
x BALANCE
You can vary the balance of the left and right
speakers as follows. Be sure to set “TEST
TONE” to “ON” for easy adjustment.
To adjust the volume of all the
speakers at one time
Use the VOLUME control on the system, or
press VOL +/–.
x TEST TONE
The speakers will emit a test tone to adjust
“LEVEL” and “BALANCE.”
Adjusting the speaker
balance and level by using the
test tone
1 Press DVD SETUP in stop mode.
The Setup Display appears.
2 Press X or x repeatedly to select
“SPEAKER SETUP,” then press
ENTER.
3 Press X or x repeatedly to select “TEST
TONE,” then press ENTER.
4 Press X or x repeatedly to select “ON,”
then press ENTER.
You will hear the test tone from each
speaker in sequence.
5 From your listening position, adjust the
value of “BALANCE” and “LEVEL”
using C/X/x/c.
When adjusting “BALANCE,” the test tone
is emitted from both the left and right
speakers at the same time, and when
adjusting “LEVEL,” the test tone is emitted
from only the selected speaker.
6 Press ENTER when you have finished
making adjustments.
7 Press X or x repeatedly to select “TEST
TONE,” then press ENTER.
8 Press X or x repeatedly to select
“OFF,” then press ENTER.
Note
When you adjust the speaker settings, the sound cuts
off for a moment.
Tip
To adjust the balance or the level without listening to
the test tone, select “BALANCE” or “LEVEL” in step
3 and press ENTER. Then adjust the balance or level
using X/x and press ENTER.
CENTER
0 dB
Adjusts the level of the center
speaker (–6 dB to +6 dB, 1 dB
increments).
SURROUND
LEFT 0 dB
SURROUND
RIGHT 0 dB
Adjusts the level of the surround
speakers (–6 dB to +6 dB, 1 dB
increments).
SUBWOOFER
0 dB
Adjusts the level of the subwoofer
(–6 dB to +6 dB, 1 dB increments).
FRONT
Adjusts the balance between the front left
and right speakers. The center position is
shown as “---”. (You can adjust from the
center 6 steps left or right.)
OFF
The test tone is not emitted from the
speakers.
ON
The test tone is emitted from both the left
and right speakers simultaneously while
adjusting level or balance. When you select
one of the “SPEAKER SETUP” items, the
test tone is emitted from each speaker in
sequence.
