Handling CDs
Handling
• When holding the CD, do not touch the recorded side
(the side without the label).
• Do not attach any paper or seals onto the CD.
• The CDP-D12 can play round CDs only. Playing
irregularly shaped CDs such as star-shaped or heart-
shaped CDs may damage the player.
• Do not use CDs on which labels or stickers have been
attached, for example by second-hand CD or CD
rental shops.
Preservation
• Do not leave CDs in a place subject to high
temperature or high humidity, especially places
exposed to direct sunlight.
• Store CDs in their case. CDs that are piled or stacked
without cases may become deformed.
Cleaning
• Fingerprints or dust will affect the quality of the
sound. Keep CDs clean.
• When cleaning a CD, wipe it with a soft cloth from
the center outward.
• If the CD is extremely dirty, wipe it with a soft cloth
lightly moistened with water, and then finish with a
dry cloth.
• Do not use solvents such as benzene, record cleaner,
or anti-static spray intended for vinyl LPs.
Notes on CD-R/CD-RW playback
Discs recorded on a CD-R/CD-RW drive may not play
back due to scratches, dirt, recording conditions, or
properties of the drive. In addition, discs for which the
recording process was not finalized cannot be played
back.
