To deactivate Protection by my Xperia

From your Home screen, tap .

Find and tap Settings > Security > Protection by my Xperia.

Tap Deactivate .

Sign in using either your Google™ account or your Sony Entertainment
Network account and follow the on-screen instructions to deactivate
Protection by my Xperia.
Lockdown mode
One of the features of Protection by my Xperia is a "lockdown" mode, which is
enabled when unusual activities are performed on your device. Once your device is in
lockdown mode, you have to sign in to your Google™ account or Sony Entertainment
Network account to reactivate your device.
To prevent your device from being used or sold by thieves, the lockdown mode will:

Stop or disable all running applications.
•
Limit access to notifications.
•
Disable access to USB and Bluetooth® connections.
•
Block all outgoing calls and allow only emergency calls.
•
Connect incoming calls to voice mail if available.
Actions that trigger lockdown mode
Lockdown mode occurs when:
•
Performing a factory reset.
•
Deleting the Google™ account or the Sony Entertainment Network account that was
used to activate Protection by my Xperia on your device
•
Using PC Companion or Bridge for Mac to wipe out user data.
•
Removing or tampering security features on the device, for example, trying to remove
Protection by my Xperia from device administrators under Settings > Security.
To recover from the lockdown mode

On the lockdown screen, tap Authenticate.

Sign in using either your Google™ account or your Sony Entertainment
Network account and follow the on-screen instructions to recover from
lockdown mode.
Make sure that you have a working Internet connection, preferably over Wi-Fi®, to limit data
traffic charges when recovering from lockdown mode.
Finding the identification number of your device
Your device has a unique ID (identification) number. In your device, this number is
referred to as the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity). You should keep a
copy of this number. You may require it, for example, when you access the Xperia™
Care support service and need to register your device. Also, if your device is stolen,
some network providers can use this number to stop the device from accessing the
network in your country.
