Setting face detection

Press and hold k for over a
second.
･ If the still image shooting screen does
not appear, tap .

On the shooting screen, press
t, then tap "Focus mode"
(P.127).

Tap (Face detection).
❖Information
･ When Scene is set to "Landscape"/"Night scene"/
"Document", Face detection cannot be used.
Taking a photo using face
detection

With Face detection set, point the
camera at your subject.
･ Each detected face is framed.

Tap the frame you want to focus
on, or, by not tapping, let the
camera select which face to focus
on.

Press k halfway down.
･ A green frame shows which face is in
focus.

To take a photo, press k tightly
until it stops.
･ The photo is automatically saved in
the microSD card.

Press x to turn off the camera.
Smile detection allows you to capture a face
just as it smiles. The camera detects up to five
faces and selects one face for smile detection
and auto focus. A yellow frame shows which
face is selected. When the selected face
smiles, the frame turns to green and the
camera automatically takes a photo.

"Capturing mode" (P.125).

Tap (Smile detection).
❖Information
･ When Capturing mode is set to smile detection,
you can select smile level for the smile detection
feature from "Big smile"/"Normal smile"/"Faint smile"
by tapping (Smile level).
