5 Scroll to a chapter and press .
FM transmitter
You can play music or audio books
saved in your phone through an
external radio over the FM radio
frequency band. The icon indicates
transmission.
To transmit music to an FM radio
1 Place the phone up to 10 metres (33
feet) from the radio, with no solid
objects in between. The maximum
distance varies depending on the
surrounding environment.
2 External FM radio: Tune in an unused
frequency.
3 Phone: From standby select Menu >
Media > Music.
4 Browse by category using the
navigation key.
5 Scroll to a title and select Play.
6 Select Options > FM transmitter.
7 Use or to select the same
frequency as on the external radio.
8 Select Start.
9 Select Done to go back to the
Walkman® player view.
To stop transmitting music
1 In the Walkman® player view, select
Options > FM transmitter.
2 Select Stop.
PlayNow™
You can connect to PlayNow™ to
download ringtones, games, music,
themes and wallpapers. You can
preview or listen to content before you
purchase and download it to your
phone.
Audio books in other formats than M4B
or audio books that do not have ID3v2
chapter tags can be found in the Tracks
folder.
Do not use the FM transmitter in places
where this is prohibited. The FM
transmitter will not work in countries
where it is not legal, when the phone is
in flight mode or where there is no
network coverage.
Move the phone closer to the radio if
transmission is not working. Sound
quality may be improved by changing
the frequency.
Transmission stops when you stop
playing music and exit the Walkman®
player.
This service is not available in all
countries.
