Draft for Sony Ericsson Internal Use Only
Ericsson mobile phones, see

The HBM-30 is automatically switched off
The HBM-30 might be switched off automatically if
the battery power is too low. Insert a new battery.
Memory Stick Duo
The HBM-30 supports white MagicGate Memory
Stick Duo for both playback and recording.
The HBM-30 supports blue Memory Sticks only for
playback of MP3 files.
When recording make sure the memory stick is not
locked. Check the lock function on the back of the
memory stick. See picture “3” on page 4
If the Memory Stick Duo runs out of memory (MS
FULL is displayed), you can erase tracks. Check that
both ATRAC3 and MP3 tracks are deleted. See
page 12.
ATRAC3 and MP3 files
If an 8 character MP3 file name shows in the display,
there is no track title added for the MP3 file. See
“Changing settings” on page 12.
The HBM-30 does not support playback of MP3
files recorded at a bitrate higher than 192 kbps.
Unreadable Memory Stick
If the display shows Wrong MS, the contents of
your MagicGate Memory Stick Duo may have
become corrupted. Use the format function to
recover your memory stick, see page 13. Your
memory stick can be used again for ATRAC3
recording or for storage of MP3 tracks.
Use this function only when your MagicGate
Memory Stick contents have accidentally become
corrupted.
All your music will be lost, but you can use your
memory stick to record new music tracks.
