16.17 AT+CSCS Select Character Set
This command informs the TA which character set <chset> is used by
the TE. The TA is then able to convert character strings correctly
between TE and ME character sets.
When TA-TE interface is set to 8-bit operation and the used TE alphabet
is 7-bit, the highest bit shall be set to zero.
Note! How the internal alphabet of ME is converted to, or from, the TE
alphabet is manufacturer specific.
<fo> Description
0-255 Depending on the command or result code: first octet of
GSM 03.40 SMS-DELIVER, SMS-SUBMIT (default 17),SMS-
STATUS-REPORT, or SMS-COMMAND (default 2) in integer
format
<vp> Description
0-143 (TP-VP+1) x 5 minutes (i.e 5 minutes intervals up to 12 hous)
144-167 12 hours + ((TP_VP-143) x 30 minutes)
168-196 (TP-VP-166) x 1 day
197-255 (TP-VP-192) x 1 week
<pid> Description
0-255 Protocol Identifier in integer format. Default value = 0.
According to 07.05 section 9.2.3.9
<dcs> Description
0-255 Data coding scheme. See GSM 03.38. UCS2 and
compressed text not supported
