4.2 Cleaning and Disinfecting Probes
All probes must be cleaned and disinfected before and after each use. Use a soft cloth
or appropriate cleaning sheet, lightly dampened with Isopropyl alcohol (or proper
cleaner), to remove any foreign substances left on the probe, the edges, corners, and
curved parts of the probes. Dry the probe with a clean, soft cloth. Alternatively, dampen
a soft cloth in a glutaraldehyde-based hospital disinfectant solution such as Cidex. Wipe
the probe with a dampened cloth.
If still wet or left a stain, wipe with a clean water-dampened cloth. Before use, dry the
probe completely with clean, soft cloth.
4.3 Storage
When not in use, it is recommended to put the probe in its case. During storage, the
probe must be protected from extreme operating temperatures
