Phone Settings
Network Settings
This relates to various network related settings. Press
Menu key > Settings > Network. The following options
are displayed:
• Search Type: Select Automatic to set the phone
to automatically select a cellular network available
in your area, or select Manual to set the network
manually, while roaming. If manual mode is set, You
need to invoke New Search to do network selection.
• New Search: Search for a available networks
manually.
• Preferred Networks: View the list of networks. Select
Options to Add , Delete or Reorder the preferred
networks. This list is made to use while the user is
roaming.
• SIM network mode: View and set the type of
networks. The different options are,
• Automatic: Recommended option. This option
registers on a 3G network, if available. Else, the
phone registers to a GSM network. A ‘W’ in the
sigal bar represent the 3G network
• 3G (WCDMA) Only: The phone shall register on
3G network only. If 3G coverage is not available,
the phone goes to no signal condition, even if
GSM coverage is present.
• GSM only: The phone shall register to GSM
network only.
Data Profiles
This relates to different server prole settings required for
accessing MMS, Java applications, Internet, email, and
video and music streaming Press Menu > Settings > Data
Proles.
Internet Prole
Set the prole to access Internet using Web browser, and
send/receive MMS messages.
Web Browser Prole
Enter the following details to access the Internet using
your phone.
• Prole Name: The name of the prole
• Web Protocol : Set the protocol to HTTP or
WAP.
• Proxy Address: The address of the proxy
server.
• Proxy Port Number: The port number of the
proxy server.
• Login name: The user name required to access
the account.
• Password: The password required to access
the account.
• Home URL: The URL of the Message centre.
MMS Prole
Enter the following details to access the multimedia
services using your phone.
• Prole Name: The name of the prole
• Type: Set the protocol to HTTP or WAP.
• Security: Set the network security.
• Proxy Address: The address of the proxy
server.
• Proxy Port Number: The port number of the
proxy server.
• Login name: The user name required to access
the account.
• Password: The password required to access
the account.
