250 Chapter 16, Copy Protection and Premastering
In the Step 3 section of the Layout Editor, the following output options are available:
These output options can be performed successively in a single operation, or they can be
performed separately. However, a disc image file cannot be written until the DVD-Video files
have been created, and you cannot premaster to DVD-R or DLT until the disc image file has
been created.
Writing the DVD-Video files and disc image separately, before you premaster, allows you to
test and proof the project in a DVD player application, such as Sonic DVD PrePlay. You can
then return to Scenarist to make the necessary corrections and adjustments to the project,
after which you can output the files again.
Once you are satisfied with the project and have written the final DVD-Video files and disc
image, you can then premaster to DVD-R or DLT—in either Scenarist or another application,
such as Sonic ROM Formatter.
