Text Data
DVD-Video discs can contain text data for title names, song names, performers, credits, Web
links, and production information such as release versions and product codes. Text data
appears on the LCDs for DVD players that support the text feature. Text data is imported
from a text file with the following properties:
The #DVD_TEXT_INFO line tells Scenarist that the file is an information file. This line is not
a comment and must appear exactly as shown in Figure 4.
The TextID= line can be any character string up to 12 characters. The string is formatted and
written to the DVD disc image and must appear in the information file.
The CHRS = ISO646 line is a character set code. The code shown here refers to the ASCII
format. The choice of code depends on which code set the DVD player supports.
The character string #Title1 (or #Title2, #Title3, and so forth) and the word “Title” on the
following line must appear in the information file for each VTS title.
