Copy Protection 237
To add copy protection to a VTS:
1 In the Layout Editor, choose Settings > CSS Settings. The CMI Settings dialog opens.
2 From the VMG & VTS menu, select the VTS to which you will add copy protection.
3 If you want the VTS to be encrypted with CSS, set the CP_SEC option to Protection
System.
4 Set the CGMS menu to one of the following options:
No Copying Allows no copying.
One Generation Allows any number of one-generation copies to be made from the
original disc. The copied discs, however, cannot be copied to create second-generation
copies.
Permitted Allows any number of copies and generations of copies.
5 If CGMS was set to No Copying, set the APS menu to one of the following options:
Off Provides no additional copy protection.
Type 1 Uses AGC (see “APS” on page 234). This option is compatible with both PAL and
NTSC.
Type 2 Uses AGC along with a two-line color striping scheme (see “APS” on page 234).
This option is only compatible with NTSC.
Type 3 Uses AGC along with a more stringent four-line color striping scheme (see “APS”
on page 234). This option is only compatible with NTSC.
6 Repeat the previous steps for additional VTSs.
7 Leave the Disc Key and Title Key fields blank. CSS keys are added later by the disc
replicator.
8 Click OK to close the CMS Settings dialog.
