General Parameters
The DVD Specification states that a DVD player must contain 16 memory locations that can
be addressed DVD-Video content. Each location contains unsigned 16 bits (corresponding to
values 0–65535). These locations are called general parameters, or GPRMs.
Each GPRM contains a value that you can test or change to create complex branching in the
playback of scenarios. GPRMs can store values read from SPRMs or values calculated during
playback, and make navigation decisions based on those values.
The DVD player clears all GPRM information when the viewer stops playback or removes
the disc from the player.
