Cells and Seamless Play
Playback between cells can be seamless or non-seamless. Seamless playback refers to the
smooth, continual flow of video and audio between different scenes with no noticeable
breaks or jumps in the action. Seamless playback is ideal but not always possible due to the
constraints of DVD technology.
When dragging video tracks that contain multiple scenes to a title folder, a program and cell
is created for each scene. These adjacent cells are set to play seamlessly by default.
Non-seamless play means there is a pause or interruption in playback. Non-seamless play is
necessary when transitioning between cells that:
Reside in the same PGC but are not adjacent
Reside in the same PGC with the first cell containing a Cell command
Reside in separate PGCs
Reside on different sides or layers of a double-sided or dual-layer disc
