Workflow for Authoring the Scenario
After assets have been registered in the Asset Manager and tracks have been prepared in the
Track Editor, you are ready to construct the scenario’s structure in the Scenario Editor
authoring area. The basic steps are outlined below and discussed in greater detail in the
remaining sections of this chapter and in Chapter 12, “PGC Links and Jump Commands.”
The basic workflow for authoring the scenario includes the following steps:
1 If necessary, add VTS and title folders to the project.
2 Drag video and still tracks from the Asset Manager to title folders to create title PGCs.
3 Add a language folder, for each language in the project, to the VMG folder.
4 Drag menu tracks to VMG language folders to create title menu PGCs.
5 Add a language folder, for each language in the project, to the VTS folders.
6 Drag menu tracks to VTS language folders to create root menu and submenu PGCs.
7 Link the First PGC to the menu PGC or title PGC that will play when the disc is first
inserted into a DVD player.
8 Use PGC links (see “PGC Link Commands” on page 190) and Jump commands (see
“Jump Commands” on page 195) to affect playback order, loop tracks, and link button
highlights.
