9 Click the wipe block and set the Initial Color and Initial Contrast for E1, E2, and P, and
Bg. This determines how the subpicture will appear at the beginning of the wipe.
10 Click the wipe block and set the Change Color and Initial Contrast for E1, E2, and P, and
Bg. This determines how the subpicture will appear at the end of the wipe.
Note: The color and contrast settings for Initial and Change are independent of the
subpicture’s normal color and contrast values (displayed when the wipe effect is not
present).
To test a subpicture wipe:
1 To encode the subpicture with the new wipe effect, choose Tools > Encode, or click the
Encode button in the Mode palette. Changes to subpicture colors and effects are not
reflected in playback in Simulation mode until the subpicture is encoded.
2 Select Mode > Simulation.
3 Click Play in the Design Tools palette. The subpicture plays back with the wipe effect.
Subpicture Stops
A subpicture stop terminates display of the subpicture. When presenting a series of
subpictures, as with a set of subtitles, each subpicture must end with a stop before the next
can appear.
To add a subpicture stop:
1 In the Track Editor directory area, select the track to which you will add the subpicture
stop.
2 If the Simulation window is not visible, select View > Simulation Window.
