144 Chapter 9, Creating Menu Tracks
Forced Activated
The Forced Activated button is automatically activated when the menu times out, even if the
viewer has not pressed any buttons on the remote control. This is useful if you want to jump
to a different menu after a certain time elapses. The Forced Activated button never becomes
activated if the track is set to loop (in the Scenario Editor).
The Forced Activated button can be the same button as the Forced Selected button (see
“Forced Selected” on page 143), or it can be a different button.
To specify the Forced Activated button:
1 In the Track Editor directory area, select the menu track for which you will specify the
Forced Activated button.
2 If the Simulation window is not open, select View > Simulation Window.
3 In the Simulation window, click the Subpicture and Highlight tab, then scroll to the
Highlight page with the Left-Right arrows (on the right side of the tab).
4 Do one of the following:
Set the Forced Activated menu to the button number that will be the Forced Activated
button.
If you do not want a Forced Activated button, set the menu to Nonexistent.
If you want the selected button to activate on time out, set the menu to Selected.
Note: The Forced Activated option is also accessible from the Property Browser. Select the
the highlight stream in the Track Editor timeline and then double-click the Highlight Play
field in the Property Browser.
