120 Chapter 8, Adding Subtitles and Closed Captioning
Locating Missing Subtitles on Import
During the import process, an error message may appear in the Subtitle Import Message
window, stating:
Can’t open first Subpicture image File [path].
The path shown in the error message, which is the same as the path in the subtitle
command script file, does not match the location of the subtitle assets. To correct this
problem, open the script file in a text editor, change the directory path to match the path to
the assets, and repeat the subtitle import procedure.
Closed Captioning
Scenarist supports adding closed captioning for the hearing impaired to video tracks.
Because closed-captioning is stored in Line 21 of the vertical blank interval of a television
signal, it is often referred to as Line 21.
Closed captioning is only available for NTSC video, and it is not supported by all DVD
players and televisions.
