Using Place Holders 95
Objects Created When Registering Audio Assets
Audio assets can be registered by dragging them from Windows Explorer to the Data Editor
or to a track timeline in the Track Editor. Audio assets cannot be registered by dragging to
the Scenario Editor.
Using Place Holders
You can begin authoring a project even if its assets have not yet been prepared. This is done
by using place holders that will later be replaced by assets once they’re ready. Place holders
can be blank or they can be actual assets that serve as “dummy” assets during the authoring
process. Just like real assets, you can set properties for place holders, create tracks and
PGCs from them, and even add button and navigation commands that link to them.
Adding New Place Holders
When adding a new place holder, it can be completely blank (containing no data), or it can
be an existing dummy asset that will serve as a temporary subpicture, still image, movie or
audio clip.
To add a new place holder:
1 In the Data Editor directory area, select the asset folder to which you will add the place
holder.
