FORWARD
Pressing this button moves the cursor forward, take by take in the current
sound file. Use to navigate through several takes either to review, or record over
them.
GO TO END
Pressing this button puts the cursor at the end of the current sound file. Use to
quickly continue recording from the end of the current sound file if the cursor
was moved to review the previously recorded material.
TIME RECORDED
This field displays the total time recorded for the current sound file. The
display is in the units displayed in the Input Format field above.
TIME LEFT ON DRIVE
This field displays the total time left on the drive for recording. The display is
in the units displayed in the Input format field above.
REMOTE
Press this button to enter the Remote Recording dialog. This mode will hide the
main Sound Forge XP window and show only the Record Remote dialog. This
allows you to easily record while using other components of your system like
a CD player, mixer, or sequencer.
GO TO
Press this button to see the Go To dialog. The controls on this dialog let you
select the position in the file where recording begins.You can also choose an
input format.
SELECTION (START, END, LENGTH, INPUT FORMAT)
Press this button to see the Set Selection dialog. Use this dialog to determine the
start, end and length of the current selection, based on the Input Format. This
option is only available when a data selection has been made.
WINDOW
Press this button to see the Window dialog. Use it to choose a window to hold
the sound data you record.
