REPEATING AN OPERATION
In some situations, you may want to perform the same operation twice. For
example, you might want to add reverb to one section of a file and then do the
same thing with another section. Sound Forge XP has two techniques for
quickly repeating an operation.
The first is known as shift-clicking. As the name implies, you hold down the Shift
key before you click a button or choose a menu option. This technique
bypasses the dialog of options that often appears when you start to perform a
task. Instead of displaying the dialog, Sound Forge XP immediately performs
the operation using the same parameters you specified last time. Shift-clicking
works for most operations in Sound Forge XP.
You can also use Repeat (Control+Y) under the Edit menu to quickly repeat the
last operation. This works for all Process, Effects, and Tools functions in Sound
Forge XP. Holding down the Shift key while selecting Repeat takes you to the last
function’s dialog.
