Introduction
The back panel
The jacks and ports that are used to connect other devices to the
SOMAport are located on the back panel. The telephone jacks connect
telephones to the SOMAport, whereas the Ethernet port is used to connect to
computer equipment. The locations of the connectors are shown below.
The connectors and switches on the back panel have the following functions.
Part Description
Booster antenna
connector
This is the connector to which the optional SOMA Networks external
booster antenna attaches.
ATTENTION:
The booster antenna connector should only ever be
connected to the SOMA Networks booster antenna, as control voltages
and signals are present at this connector. Other manufacturers’ antennas
should never be connected to the booster antenna connector as they will
provide no improvement to reception and will result in irreparable damage
to the SOMAport, rendering it inoperative.
