To disable the automatic dial-up connection in Mac OS X
1 Click the Apple icon and choose System Preferences.
2 Click the Network icon.
3 Click Show.
4 Select Network Port Configurations from the pull-down list.
5 Disable the On checkbox for the dial-up modem.
6 Click Apply Now.
