Normally,therearenomorethantwoinputportsintheMDBUoftheBIU
Forexample,the850cellularbandhastwoinputports
tosupportbothVzWandAT&T
Thesetwoinputpowers maybedifferentfromeachother.TheDAShasaninputattenuator
infirststageoftheMDBU.ThroughinputAGCfunction,theinputATTis adjustedaccording
to the input power. If input power increases, the input ATT is
adjusted again to limit
increased input powerandif the inputpower decreases,the input ATT wi ll return to the
initialATTsetting.
7.6 Opticallosscompensation
TheDAShasthefunctionofautomaticallycompensatingforopticalloss.Itcandothework
forupto5dBoofopticalloss.Set“TXOPTICCOMP”ofROUas"ON."Opticalcompensation
of ROU can not bemade withoutcommunication tothe ODU or OEU. For 1dBo of optical
loss,
basicTXOPTICATTis 1dB;for5dBoofopticalloss,TXOPTICATTis4dB.OPTICCOMP
worksonlyonetimebeforeitstaysdormant.
