Appendix C: Replacing and Adding System
Components
This appendix includes replacement procedures for the SolarEdge system components.
NOTE
If you are permanently disassembling the installation or part of it, make sure to
use the disposal methods dictated by local regulations.
Replacing an Inverter
1. Turn OFF the StorEdge Connection Unit.
2. Turn OFF the inverter ON/OFF switch, and wait until the LCD indicates that the DC
voltage is safe (<50V), or wait five minutes before continuing to the next step.
WARNING!
If you cannot see the inverter panel, or if a malfunction is indicated on the
LCD panel, wait five minutes for the input capacitors of the inverter to
discharge.

3. Turn OFFthe ACswitch at the distribution panel.
4. Power off the battery, as explained in "Powering the LG Chem Battery Off and On"
on page147.
5. Open the StorEdge Connection Unit cover.
6. Turn the Bypass switch inside the StorEdge Connection Unit to position 2, in order
to maintain power to the backed-up loads.
7. Disconnect the meter, battery, AC and DC wires from the StorEdge Connection Unit.
8. Remove the screws securing the inverter to the mounting bracket and remove the
inverter (with the StorEdge Connection Unit)from the mounting bracket.
