Chapter 6: Setting Up Communication
Theinvertersendsthefollowinginformationtothemonitoringplatform:

Thischapterdescribessettingupcommunicationbetween:
l theinverterandthemonitoringplatformthroughtheInternet(wired/wireless),orthroughacellular
connection

Communicationsetupisnotrequiredforpowerharvesting,howeveritisneededforusingthe
monitoringplatform.
CAUTION!
When connecting the communication cables, make sure that the ON/OFF switch on the Safety Switch
is turned OFF, and the AC is turned OFF.
When configuring the communication parameters, make sure that the ON/OFF switch on the Safety
Switch is OFF, and the AC is turned ON.
ATTENTION!

RS485isusedfortheconnectionofmultipleSolarEdgedevicesonthesamebusinamaster-slave
configuration.RS485canalsobeusedasaninterfacetoexternaldevices,suchasmetersandthirdparty
dataloggers.
l RS485-1:Enablestheconnectionofmultipledevices(inverters/CommercialGateway)overthe
samebus,suchthatconnectingonlyonedevicetotheInternetissufficienttoprovide
