Communication Options
The following types of communication can be used to transfer the monitored
information from the inverter to the monitoring platform.
Only communication products offered by SolarEdge are supported.
Ethernet
RS485
RS485 is used for the connection of multiple SolarEdge devices on the same bus in a
master-slave configuration. RS485 can also be used as an interface to external devices,
such as meters and third party data loggers.
RS485-1: Enables the connection of multiple inverters over the same bus,
such that connecting only one inverter to the Internet is sufficient to
provide communication services for all the inverters on the bus. RS485-1 has
built-in surge protection.
RS485-2: Enables connection of non-SolarEdge devices.

GSM
This wireless communication option (purchased separately) enables
using a GSM connection to connect one or several devices (depending
on the data plan used) to the monitoring platform.
The GSM Plug-in is provided with a user manual, which should be
reviewed prior to connection. Refer to
