Chapter 4: Connecting the AC and Strings to
the Connection Unit
TheSafetySwitchintheConnectionUnitdisconnectsallungroundedDCconductorsincompliancewith
theNationalElectricCode(NEC;SpecificallyNEC690.35,whichaddressesungroundedPVarrays).The
ConnectionUnitisratedtothemaximumoperatingconditionsoftheinverter.
Invertersofdifferentmodelsmightbeequippedwithdifferentsizes/typesofterminalblocks.
NOTE
If connecting to a Delta Grid perform the 'To set the inverter for 208V delta grid connection' procedure
as described in Setting the Inverter to Support 208V Delta Grid on page 36, before connecting the AC
and strings to the Connection Unit.

NOTE
SolarEdge's fixed input voltage architecture enables the parallel strings to be of different lengths.
Therefore, they do not need to have the same number of power optimizers, as long as the length of
each string is within the permitted range.
NOTE
It is recommended to connect communication connections (Setting Up Communication on page 56)
before connecting the AC, for easier access to the communication board.

If opposite polarity DC conductors are routed in the same conduit, 1000V rated cables must be used.
