The SolarEdge Monitoring System
TheSolarEdgemonitoringportalenablesaccessingSolarEdgesiteinformation,includingup-
to-dateinformationviewedinaphysicalorlogicalview.Themonitoringportalisdescribedin
detailintheSolarEdgeMonitoring Portal User Guide,availableontheSolarEdgewebsiteat
http://www.solaredge.us/files/pdfs/solaredge-monitoring-portal-user-guide.pdf.The
SolarEdgemonitoringportalcandisplaylogicalandphysicallayoutsoftheinstalledsystem,
asfollows:
l Logical Layout:Showsaschematiclogicallayoutofthecomponentsinthesystem,
suchas:inverters,stringsandmodules,aswellastheirelectricalconnectivity.This
viewenablesyoutoseewhichmodulesareconnectedineachstring,whichstringsare
connectedtoeachinverter,andsoon.
l Physical Layout:Showsaschematicphysicallayoutofthecomponentsinthesystem,
suchas:inverters,stringsandmodules,aswellastheirelectricalconnectivity.This
viewenablesabird’seyeviewoftheactuallocationofasystemcomponent.
Usingtheportal,youcan:
l Viewthelatestperformanceofspecificcomponents.
l Findunder-performingcomponents,suchasmodules,bycomparingtheirperformance
tothatofothercomponentsofthesametype.
l Pinpointthelocationofalertedcomponentsusingthephysicallayout.
l Seehowcomponentsareconnectedtoeachother.
l Pairpoweroptimizersremotely.
Todisplayalogicallayout,inserttheinverterserialnumberinthenewsitecreatedinthe
application.Whenthecommunicationbetweentheinverterandthemonitoringserveris
established,thelogicallayoutwillbedisplayed.
Todisplayaphysicallayout,youneedtomapthelocationsoftheinstalledpoweroptimizers.
Togenerateaphysicalmapping,useeithertheiPhoneSiteMapperapplicationoramapping
template,whichshouldbefilledoutusingthedetachablestickers(seeProviding Installation
Information,below).
ThelogicalandphysicalmappingcanbeusedfordebuggingaproblemusingtheSolarEdge
monitoringportal.
