S550 Set Up 1. Place Active Surface Peel plastic off to place the active surface on top of the S550. Optional: Attach Security Cable Step 1: Feed the string loop through the eyelet. Step 2: Pull the gimbal through the string loop. Step 3: Pull tight so the string loop is secure.

S550 Set Up 2. Charge Your S550 Connect to power using the charging cable and charge the battery. Charging connector 3. Power On Press the power button to turn on when S550 is battery operated. Power button *S550 will automatically turn on when connected to power.

Select Mode and Pair Your S550 The S550 will announce the mode: Reader or Keyboard “Reader” mode: You are in Reader Only Profile (default) Recommended to use with your business app developed with Socket Mobile SDK. Step 1: Download Socket Mobile Companion. Step 2: Launch app. Step 3: When prompted, select “Yes” to pair S550 device.

S550 Set Up “Keyboard” mode: You are in Keyboard Emulation Profile Use this mode if you do not have an app developed with Socket Mobile SDK. Step 1: Download Socket Mobile Companion. Step 2: Launch app and when prompted, select “Yes” to pair S550 device. Step 3: Select Keyboard mode. Step 4: Go to your host device’s Bluetooth settings. Step 5: Find S550 and tap to pair.

S550 Set Up 5. Read NFC Data Launch your business app. Then, place membership card or mobile pass on top of the S550 to read data.
