Resetting the SoMo 655
The SoMo 655 supports the three levels of reset defined by Microsoft for Windows Mobile powered devices:
• Soft Reset - sometimes called a “warm reset”
• Hard Reset - sometimes called a “cold reset”
• Clean Reset - sometimes called a “clean boot”
Each of these resets is designed to clear different levels of data storage and impact the hardware differently.
Additionally, removing the battery and any external sources of power from the SoMo 655 will result in the
equivalent of a reset.
The following Table summarizes the system impact under these modes of operation:

The SoMo has a power backup that maintains the date and time if the battery and all external
power sources are removed. If the SoMo does not have a battery or external power source for 10
minutes, the date and time will be lost, and the power backup must be recharged for at least 10
minutes for it to properly maintain the date and time.
