3. Check the fill/level plug (A, Figure35) on the chain case
(B) for damage. If signs of wear or cracks are visible,
replace with a new plug.
4. To check lubricant in the chain case, remove the fill/level
plug and look for lubricant on the internal components of
the chain case. If no lubricant is visible, add transmission
grease as needed.

Engine Maintenance
Change the Engine Oil
1. Run the engine until warm.
2. Place the rider on a level surface.
3. Stop the engine and remove thekey.
4. Clean the oil fill and filter areas of any debris.
5. Remove the dipstickand lay on a clean cloth.
6. Disconnect the oil drain hose (A, Figure36).

7. Carefully remove the cap (B, Figure36) and lower the
hose into an approved container (C).
8. After the oil has drained, install the cap tightly, then attach
the hose to the side of the engine.
9. Remove the oil filter (B, Figure37) and dispose of
properly.
