Stand the rifle on its buttstock with one hand gripping the
stocks and other gripping the lower end of the handguard.
While your buddy presses down on the slip ring, which is a
two-hand job, pull the hand guard free. (Figure 22 & 23)
Repeat this procedure to remove the other handguard.
Ensure that magazine is removed and the firearm is not
loaded so that it will not fire.
Move safety selector lever to “SAFE”.
Push in the stainless steel detent on bottom of modular rail
forend (Figure 24) and slide bottom rail towards the muzzle
of
the firearm.
Line up teeth in bottom rail and lift out of assembly.
