CLEARING MISFIRES
WARNING: IF YOUR FIREARM GIVES ANY INDICA-
TION THAT IT IS NOT PERFORMING PROPERLY OR
THE OPERATION OF YOUR FIREARM HAS CHANGED
“THE WAY IT FEELS OR SOUNDS”, STOP FIRING. MAKE
SURE THE FIREARM IS POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION,
UNLOAD THE FIREARM AND HAVE IT INSPECTED AND
TEST FIRED BY A GUNSMITH QUALIFIED TO PERFORM
SERVICE ON SMITH & WESSON FIREARMS.
• If a shell fails to fire, wait ten seconds while keeping the muz-
zle pointed in safe direction.
• Keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard.
• Move the safety to the “SAFE” position.
NOTE: THIS SHOTGUN HAS A SEQUENTIAL EJECTOR
MECHANISM: If you have not pulled the trigger at all and want to
unload the shotgun, you will have to remove the shells manually
from the chambers after opening the mechanism. If you have
pulled the trigger once, the bottom shell will eject when you open
the shotgun and you will have to remove the top shell manually.
If you have pulled the trigger twice, both shells will eject with
force when the barrels are opened.
WARNING: VERIFY THAT THE BARREL IS CLEAR
AND FREE FROM ANY OBSTRUCTIONS BEFORE
RE-LOADING.
