•While holding pistol in your shooting hand, replace the slide
onto the frame (Figure 20).
•Replace the recoil spring over the recoil guide (Figure 21).
•Place the open end of the spring into the recoil housing,
pressing the recoil guide rod into the slide opening. At this
point, no portion of the recoil guide rod assembly should
protrude above the slide (Figure 22).

This completes field stripping of the firearm. No further disas-
sembly should be attempted.
