Setting Margins
New margin settings remain until changed again.
1. Move the Mode Selector to Type. The typing scale appears on
the display.
2. Move the cursor to the desired left margin setting on the scale using
the Spacebar and/or Back Space key. You can also use Code +
and Code + .
3. Press Margin. The unit beeps and an “L” appears on the display.
4. Move the cursor to the desired right margin setting on the
typing scale.
5. Press Code + Margin. The unit beeps and an “R” appears on
the display.
6. You can change to Mem or Line Mode, if desired.
IMPORTANT: If you change margins in
Mem
Mode, be sure
to reformat the text before printing.

Tabs
Up to sixteen (16) tabs may be set. Tabs may be set outside margins. The
tab settings remain until changed again. (If Auto Return is activated, tabs
cannot be set beyond the right margin.)
Regular Tabs
1. Move the Mode Selector to Type. The typing scale appears on the
display.
2. Position the cursor to the desired tab location using Code + ,
Code + , Spacebar, or Back Space.
3. Press Tab S. The symbol “T” appears on the typing scale, and a beep
is heard.
4. You can then change mode, if desired.
Using Regular Tabs
Press Tab (Tab C). In Type Mode, the print hammer and cursor move to
the tab setting. In Mem Mode, the print hammer does not move. The Tab
Symbol ( ) appears on the display. In Line Mode, the cursor moves to
the tab setting on the display, but no symbol appears.
