WARRANTY CONDITIONS VALID FOR SMEG APPLIANCES INSTALLED WITHIN THE UK AND EIRE
YOUR 2 YEAR GUARANTEE - HELP US TO HELP YOU
Your new appliance comes with our 2 year guarantee protecting you against electrical and
mechanical breakdown. Please see over for terms and conditions.
It is important to register the purchase of your appliance in order to ensure that you receive
prompt and efficient assistance in the event of it requiring attention during the guarantee period.
Please note: the first 2 years guarantee and the registration thereof is valid only for appliances
installed within the UK and EIRE.
IMPORTANT: You must register within 30 days.
SMEG GUARANTEE CONDITIONS
We, Smeg, undertake that if within 24 months of the date of purchase this Smeg appliance or
any part thereof is proved to be defective by reason only of faulty workmanship or materials, we
will at our discretion repair or replace the same FREE OF ANY CHARGE for labour, materials or
carriage on condition that:
• The appliance has been correctly installed and used only on the electricity or gas supply
stated on the rating plate.
• The appliance has been used for normal domestic purposes only, and in accordance with
the manufacturer’s operating and maintenance instructions.
• The appliance has not been serviced, maintained, repaired, taken apart or tampered with by
any person not authorised by us.
• All service work under this guarantee must be undertaken by Smeg Service: Tel. 0344-
5579907 - email: customer.service@smeguk.com.
Any appliance or defective part replaced shall become Smeg’s property.
Please note:
This guarantee is in addition to your statutory and other legal rights.
Home visits are normally made between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm Mon-Fri.
EXCLUSIONS
This guarantee does not cover:
• Damage or calls resulting from transportation, improper use or neglect, the replacement of
any light bulbs, filters or removable parts of glass or plastic.
• Costs incurred from calls to put right an appliance which is improperly installed or calls to
appliances outside the United Kingdom or Eire.
• Appliances found to be in use within a commercial environment, plus those which are the
subject of rental agreements.
• Products of Smeg manufacture which are not marketed by Smeg.
• Call out charges where no fault is found.
• Consequential damage resulting from repair work.
• Appliances purchased as graded or second hand from non-approved Smeg retailer will not
be covered.
