8. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
8.1 Defrosting the freezer
The freezer needs to be defrosted manually. You are advised to defrost it when the frost or ice on the
shelves is more than 2 cm thick (or once/twice per year). A few hours before starting the defrosting
process, use the selector to set the thermostat to setting 4 so that the frozen foods are cooled further.
Then turn the selector to setting
and remove the plug from the electric socket (or turn off the master
switch). Open the door and remove the deep-frozen products from the drawers, protecting them from
defrosting during the cleaning phase. Leave the freezer door open to allow the frost to melt. Insert drain
(1) into the appropriate slot. Place a container (2) (not supplied) under the drain to catch the water from
the defrosting. Reconnect the plug (or set the master switch to ON). Turn the freezer back on using the
selector on the control panel.
