STEP 3: Click “Install”. STEP 4: The InstallShield Wizard starts to install IP Camera Manager to your computer. The Status bar indicates the installation process. [Note] The installation process may take several minutes to complete, depending on the specifications of your computer system. STEP 5: Click “Finish” to complete the installation. A.2. IP Camera Manager Web version – Uninstall STEP 1: Click Start Æ Control Panel Æ Add or Remove Programs. STEP 2: Select IP Camera Manager and click “Remove”. STEP 3: Remove Confirmation. Click “Yes” to remove IP Camera Manager from your system. STEP 4: Uninstall process status. Uninstall process will remove all saved data and configuration files.
B. Using the IP Camera Manager B.1. Starting the Program Click Start Æ Programs Æ IP Camera manager. On the login window, enter the user’s Account and Password, and then click “OK” to login. [Tip] The other way to start the program is simply double-clicking the IP Camera Manager icon ( ) on the desktop. z Account: If this is the first time you login, use “admin” as default user name. z Password: If this is the first time you login, use “smcadmin” as default password.
B.2. The Main Window and Item Feature When you login to IP Camera Manager, the Main window will display as below: [Note] IP Camera Manager requires the resolution setting up to 1024 x 768. For best view of the application, you are recommended to configure the resolution setting to 1024 x 768 or higher; otherwise, it may shows incomplete screen when launching the program. The Main window provides you with the tips on operating the system.
z Quick Launch Buttons: The five Quick Launch Buttons are located below the Command Bar, providing you with quick launch functions. Button Use to Homepage: Return to the Main window. Live View: Link to the Live View window. Device Setting: Link to the Device Setting window, which allows you to add or remove cameras. Playback: Link to the Playback window. Account Setting: Link to the Account Setting window, which allows you to add or delete the users for the system.
B.3. Accessing the Camera B.3.1. Add a Camera Before accessing a camera, you have to add the camera to the system through the following steps. STEP 1: Click the Device Setting button ( ) to enter the Device Setting window. On the Device Setting window, click “New”. 22 [Tip] You can access the Device Setting window by clicking Device > Setting. STEP 2: Click “Device Search”. STEP 3: On the Device Search window, click “Search”. The system starts to search the camera(s) within your network.
STEP 4: When search is finished, click “OK”, and the search result will be displayed on the window. Select the desired camera and click “Add”. STEP 5: The information of the selected camera will be displayed on the window. z Brand Name: Display the brand name of the camera. z Model: Display the model name of the camera. z Camera Title: Assign a descriptive name for the camera. z IP Address: Display the IP address of the camera. z Web Port: Display the port path of the camera.
z Preview Window: This window allows you to preview the image of the camera. Click “Preview” to view the image; click “Disconnect” to stop previewing. When completed, click “Save” and then select “OK” to return to the Device Setting window. The added camera will be displayed in the Device List. [Note] Divx/Xvid codec is required for viewing the image of camera.
STEP 2: Delete a camera. To delete the camera, select the desired one and then click “Remove”. When prompted, click “Yes” and then select “OK” to confirm deletion. STEP 3: Edit a camera. To change the configuration of the camera, select the desired one and then click “Modify”. [Tip] When completed, click “Save” and then select “OK” to return to the Device Setting window. To change the configuration of the camera, please refer to the STEP 5 in the “Add a Camera” section.
B.3.3. View Image of the Camera Once you have added camera(s) to the system, click the Live View button ( ) and the image of selected camera(s) will be displayed on the Live View window. You can view a maximum of 32 cameras simultaneously. You can select one-camera mode or other modes to display the video from the Live Monitor buttons. ), and the For example, if you use only one camera, select one-camera mode ( Live View window will display the view as below.

B.4. Recording / Playing Video B.4.1. Enable / Disable Recording While you are adding/editing the camera, you can enable the recording function for the camera by selecting the Record option. Alternately, you can set all cameras to start/stop recording when you connect multiple cameras. Click the Device Setting button ( ) to enter the Device Setting window, and then click “Set All Recording” to set all cameras to start recording , or click “Stop All Recording” to set all cameras to stop recording.
B.4.2. Playback of the Recording STEP 1: Click View > Playback. [Tip] You can access the Playback window by clicking the Playback button ( ). STEP 2: In the Search field, select a camera and assign the period of time to search the video files. Then, click “Search” to start searching. STEP 3: The search result will be displayed in the Recording File list. To playback the file, select the desired one and click “Play”. [Note] Divx/Xvid codec is required for the system to play the video files.
C. Configuring the IP Camera Manager C.1. Configuring the View Setting Click View > Setting to configure the camera view setting. The View Setting window contains three tabs: Group, EMAP, and User Define. C.1.1. Group You can set up a group that contains multiple cameras located in different places, so that you can easily monitor different positions simultaneously by selecting the group. C.1.1.1. Set Up Group 30 STEP 1: Click View > Setting > Group tab.
STEP 3: Select the desired cameras from the Camera List. STEP 4: When completed, click “Save” and select “OK”. The added group will be displayed in the Group List. C.1.1.2. Edit / Delete Group STEP 1: Click View > Setting > Group tab. STEP 2: Edit the Group. In the Group List, select the desired one and click “Modify”. The group’s information will be displayed in the Camera List field. You can change the group’s information and then click “Save” when completed. STEP 3: Delete the Group.
C.1.2. EMAP EMAP refer to the geography and device scope of the IP Camera Manager, which visually presents the devices in your security system. It uses a background of the area (e.g. a picture or a map) as the interface for monitoring. C.1.2.1. Set Up EMAP 32 STEP 1: Click View > Setting > EMAP tab. STEP 2: Click “New” and then enter the EMAP Name.
STEP 3: Select a Picture File from your computer. The selected picture will be displayed in the Preview field. When completed, click “Save” and select “OK”. The add map will be displayed in the EMAP List. STEP 4: In the EMAP List, select the desired item and click “Modify”. Then, click “Camera Location”. STEP 5: 33 In the pop-up window, select the camera from the Camera List, and then left-click the mouse on the desired position of the map.
STEP 6: The camera icon will be displayed on selected position of the map. When completed, click “Save” and select “OK”. STEP 7: View from EMAP. Click View > Live View > EMAP. Select the map from the Map Name list. STEP 8: C.1.2.2. Edit / Delete EMAP 34 Click the camera icon, the camera window will then pop up to display the on-the-spot image.
STEP 1: Click View > Setting >EMAP tab. STEP 2: Edit the EMAP. In the EMAP List, select the desired one and click “Modify”. The map’s information will be displayed in the EMAP New/Modify field. You can change the map’s information and then click “Save” when completed. STEP 3: Delete the EMAP. In the EMAP List, select the desired one and click “Remove”. The selected map will be removed from the list.
C.1.3. User Define You can set up a customized layout of camera view according to your need. C.1.3.1. Set Up Layout 36 STEP 1: Click View > Setting > User Define tab. STEP 2: Click “New” and then enter the Layout Name. STEP 3: Select the desired Layout Style.
STEP 4: To assign the position for each camera, select the camera from the Camera List, and then select the desired position number. When completed, click “Save” and select “OK”. The layout will be displayed in the Layout List. C.1.3.2. Edit / Delete Layout STEP 1: Click View > Setting > Layout tab. STEP 2: Edit the Layout. In the Layout List, select the desired one and click “Modify”. The layout’s information will be displayed in the Layout List field.
C.2. Configuring the System C.2.1. Set Up the Recording Click System > Recording Setting to configure the recording setting for the system. To assign the destination folder for saving the recorded files, click “Browse” and then select the desired directory. When completed, click “Save” and then select “OK”. [Note] The system will automatically delete the oldest files (10%) when the size of recorded files is up to 90% of the storage space. C.2.2.
z Administrator tab: You can set the administrator password in this tab. To change the administrator password, enter the Original Password, and then enter the new password twice. When completed, click “Save” and then select “OK”. C.2.2.1.
STEP 1: Click System > Account Setting > User tab, and then click “New”. STEP 2: Enter the user information in the required text boxes. z User Account: Enter the account name for the user. z User Name: Enter the descriptive name for the user. z User Password/Re-type Password: Enter the user password twice. z Email: Enter the user’s email address (optional). When completed, click “Save” and then select “OK”. The user will be added to the User List. C.2.2.2.

z System Log tab: - Account: Select the log file of the user. If you leave the option blank, the system will search all users' log file. - Function: Select the event type of log file. If you leave the option blank, the system will search all types of function. - Begin Date/Time and End Date/Time: Assign the period of time to search. When you have set up the required options, click “Search” and the system will start searching the system log files.
- Camera: Select the camera. If you leave the option blank, the system will search all cameras' playback log file. - Account: Select the user. If you leave the option blank, the system will search all users’ playback log file. - Begin Date/Time and End Date/Time: Assign the period of time to search. When you have set up the required options, click “Search” and the system will start searching the playback log files.
- Camera: Select the camera. If you leave the option blank, the system will search all cameras' event log file. - Event Type: Select the event type: All, Record, or Server. - Begin Date/Time and End Date/Time: Assign the period of time to search. When you have set up the required options, click “Search” and the system will start searching the event log files. The search result will be displayed in the Event Log field, which can be exported as the CSV file to your computer by clicking “Export CSV”.
C.3. Event Configuration Click Event > Setting to configure the FTP server or SMTP server, so that you can upload images to FTP or send emails that include still images as notification. z FTP: Select the Enable FTP option to start the FTP service of the system. When you enable the service, you have to complete the following settings. - Host Address: Enter the IP address of the target FTP server. - Port Number: Enter the port number used for the FTP server. The default setting is port 21.
[Tip] The status of Event Service is indicated by the status icon in the system bar.
D. Terminating Operation When you have finished operating, click File > Logout and select “Yes” to logout the system or click File > Close and select “Yes” to exit the program.
