Product Overview
SMC Network’s SMCGS1601P 16-port 10/100/1000 Mbps desktop PoE switch provides seamless network connections,
integrating 1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet and 10 Mbps Ethernet network capabilities.
The PoE ports can automatically detect and supply power to IEEE 802.3af/at-compliant Powered Devices (PDs). The electrical
power is transmitted along with data in one single cable, allowing you to expand your network to where there are no power
lines or outlets, to where you need to locate devices such as APs, IP cameras or IP phones, etc.
The SMCGS1601P is easy to install and requires no configuration. With its desktop design, outstanding performance and
quality, the 16-port 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE switch is an ideal choice for expanding your home or office network.
Key Features and Benefits
PoE Features
The SMCGS1601P can provide up to 30 Watts of power to
attached devices, such as VoIP phones, wireless access
points, surveillance cameras etc, all over existing Cat. 5
cables. The switch can provide 8/16/30 Watts through
each port depending on device needs. The total PoE
power budget for the switch is 200 W. If attached devices
draw over 200 W, the switch provides a network function
only. When using the PoE function, port LEDs indicate
PoE power. The switch eliminates the need for individual
power sources for devices in the network, saving on costs
for power cables and avoiding power outlet availability
issues.
IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet Support
When two 802.3az-compliant switches are connected, up
to 72.23%* of power consumption can be saved.
Support for Jumbo Packets
Support for Jumbo packets of up to 9K Bytes in size.
Support for Quality of Service
When the switch receives a frame tagged with an 802.1p
priority tag, it is placed in the appropriate priority queue.
Priority queuing is useful in environments where time-
sensitive data, such as voice and video, are streamed
across the network.
Auto MDI/MDI-X on Each Port
Support for Auto-MDIX means that no crossover cables
are required. Straight-through cables can be used for all
connections.
